This portrait series was created at the sand courts in Central Park, right in the heart of NYC — where I first discovered beach volleyball a few summers ago.

I had no idea then that this sport could be so addictive. I’ve always loved being active, but something about feeling the sand between my toes, playing underneath trees and tapping into such a fun group of people really pulled me in.
