Beach Ballers

For years, I’ve been drawn to the energy of the beach volleyball courts in Central Park—a pocket of raw, coastal intensity right in the middle of Manhattan. With Beach Ballers, I wanted to strip away the distractions of the city and the sand to focus purely on the athletes themselves.

Bringing a studio strobe and a black backdrop to the edge of the court allowed me to capture these players in their most honest state: covered in sweat, dusted with sand, and physically spent.
By presenting each subject as a diptych, I’m inviting you to look at the power of the full form alongside the quiet intensity of a single gaze. This series isn't just about a sport; it’s a tribute to the grit and diverse faces of the New Yorkers who leave everything on the court.
